Elise might be slightly obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. If we’re in the living room and the TV isn’t on Disney Junior, she has been known to point to it and say “it’s broken”. It only seemed appropriate to try and locate a Minnie Mouse outfit for her to wear this Halloween, especially since what she wears is 99% her decision lately, so the thought of trying to coax her into something she wasn’t interested in didn’t sound all that appealing.
Over the summer I picked up a headband with a big pink bow and a little dress that had Minnie on the front, thinking I could conjure up some sort of ears to attach to the headband and call it good. Well, she grew out of the dress (which she never wore) and the ears never happened so we had to figure something else out.
I am so proud of what we came up with because it is very reminiscent of how a costume would come together when I was a kid – second hand stuff and borrowed items. So here she is, my little Minnie Mouse, one three separate Halloween occasions:
(Dress: consignment, ears: borrowed from a friend, shirt (from day 3): also borrowed, not sure where that purple tutu came from, she must have borrowed it at the Halloween party!)

I loved her costume, and wondered how you got it together. The third pic is my favorite! PS the broken tv comment made me laugh

You did such a great job with this costume! I do agree that those homemade costumes can be so excellent! There is joy in the process of making it happen! You are a FUN mom! and, like Caitlyn, I had to laugh about the broken TV!
